TDRA Welcomes a New Scientific Advisory Committee Chair

TDRA warmly welcomes Dr. David Tang-Wai as the new chair of our Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). Dr. Tang-Wai is Department Division Director for Neurology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto (U of T). He is also an Associate Professor in Neurology and Geriatric Medicine at U of T, Co-Director of the University Health Network Memory Clinic, and a clinical investigator at the Krembil Brain Institute. 

The SAC brings perspective from each of TDRA’s partner institutions, people with lived experience, trainees, and relevant external parties to advise TDRA’s Executive Director on strategy, alignment, support and sustainability, initiatives, and partnerships. The Chair works collaboratively with TDRA’s Executive Director to identify agenda items and facilitate discussion at meetings. We welcome Dr. Tang-Wai’s expertise and leadership in research and education in this role.

TDRA also wishes to thank Dr. Donald Weaver, who served as SAC chair for the last two years. Dr. Weaver is a Senior Scientist at the Krembil Research Institute at the University Health Network. He is also a professor of Chemistry, Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Science at U of T, and a clinical neurologist at Toronto Western Hospital. Dr. Weaver’s contributions to the SAC have been invaluable, and TDRA is grateful for his time and efforts in this role.
