Dr. David Tang-Wai Officially Appointed Department Division Director for Neurology

The Toronto Dementia Research Alliance would like to congratulate Dr. David Tang-Wai on his official appointment as Department Division Director for Neurology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. After serving as Interim Division Director for the past year, his official appointment became effective as of September 1st, 2021.

Dr. Tang-Wai sits on the TDRA Scientific Advisory Committee and is a long-serving member of the TDRA Research Operations Committee. He was instrumental in the development of the Toronto Cognitive Assessment (TorCA), and he co-led the creation of the Memory Clinics Research Database.

Dr. Tang-Wai is an Associate Professor in Neurology and Geriatric Medicine at the University of Toronto, a Co-Director of the University Health Network Memory Clinic, and a Clinical Investigator at the Krembil Brain Institute. Additionally, for many years, Dr. Tang-Wai led the University of Toronto Neurology Residency Program as its Director, and received multiple teaching awards and nominations.

Congratulations Dr. Tang-Wai for this well-deserved leadership appointment. We wish him well as he continues to lead Canada’s largest neurology faculty and training program, and we look forward to our continued work together!
