About the TDRA, Announcements, Partnerships
Sarah Downey

TDRA is pleased to welcome Sarah Downey, newly appointed President and CEO of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), to our Executive Committee. Sarah will serve as co-chair along with Trevor Young, Dean of the Temerty Faculty Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Sarah comes to CAMH after serving as president and CEO of Michael Garron Hospital for seven years. Michael Garron is a large community teaching hospital in Toronto’s east end. Sarah’s strategic plan redefined the hospital’s vision, mission, values, and brand. She also led the redevelopment of 50% of the hospital’s campus, the results of which are enhancing health service delivery to the community. Prior to her role at Michael Garron, Sarah held various senior healthcare leadership positions across a range of community, academic, and complex multi-intuitional hospital settings. This includes CAMH, where she served as Executive Vice President, Clinical Programs, and chaired the Quality of Care Committee.

Sarah’s leadership is characterized by the pursuit of meaningful partnerships and diverse collaborations. She is widely respected among the healthcare community, and has a great ability to listen and action necessary changes.

Welcome, Sarah! We look forward to working together to advance shared priorities, and to your leadership toward the vision of Health Redefined at CAMH.
