The Toronto Dementia Research Alliance welcomes Dr. Graham Collingridge to our Planning and Advisory Committee.

Dr. Collingridge, FRS, CBE, was recently appointed as the new Director of the Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases, a centre world-renowned for its research into Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) as well as Parkinson’s disease.

Dr. Collingridge’s own research has been dedicated to understanding the mechanisms involved in learning and memory, including those that play a role in Alzheimer’s disease. In 2016, his research was recognized with the world’s largest brain research award - The Brain Prize - from the Lundbeck Foundation in Denmark.

We are honoured to have Dr. Collingridge as a voting member of our Planning and Advisory Committee, helping to contribute to our work of embedding research into care for people living with dementia.
