The Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST) and the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance (TDRA) are proud to announce their partnership to increase awareness of clinical research opportunities available in Toronto!

We hope this partnership will greatly impact care partners and persons living with dementia. AST will leverage its platform, The Toronto Dementia Network (TDN) to communicate information on dementia-related research studies which will be curated by TDRA.

Alzheimer Society of Toronto offers support, information, programs and education to people living with dementia, their families and their caregivers, to increase public awareness of dementia, to promote research, and to advocate for services that respect the dignity of the individual.

“We are grateful to be able to forge meaningful partnerships like this one with the TDRA, so that we can remove the barriers to research that can be often difficult to navigate for care partners and persons living with dementia. The TDRA will bring forward research studies that will benefit us as a community as we work towards raising awareness around dementia-related research”, Scott Russell, CEO, Alzheimer Society of Toronto.

TDRA is a University of Toronto collaboration which aims to better understand, prevent and treat dementia. Together with their partners, they strive to create a stronger link between basic science and clinical research, embed research into care, improve outreach and education to the community, and increase the efficiency of collaborative research processes across the city.

“Partnering with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto is a unique opportunity for dementia researchers in the Toronto community. It will give them the opportunity to increase visibility for their projects and improve access for people living with dementia and their care partners to support the mission of TDRA and advance knowledge and discoveries towards new treatments. We are grateful and excited about this partnership, which was also heavily shaped by TDRA's Lived Experience Advisory Partners Council”, says Dr. Tarek Rajji, Executive Director, TDRA.
