Investigator-Initiated Studies
The TDRA Research Studies Portal
Want to take part in a dementia research study in Toronto?
TDRA and the Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST) have teamed up to make it easier to learn about and join dementia research studies happening across the city.
The TDRA Research Studies Portal is an easy-to-use website listing investigator-initiated studies led by TDRA scientists at trusted partner sites like Baycrest, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Ontario Shores, Sunnybrook, the University Health Network, and the University of Toronto. These local studies aim to answer real-world questions and improve care for people affected by dementia.
You can:
-
Browse studies on your own or fill out a short form to be matched to one
-
See who can take part, what’s involved, and where each study happens
-
Find information written in clear, easy-to-understand language
All studies are reviewed by a Research Ethics Board—a group that makes sure the study is safe and fair for everyone who joins. Some are observational (like surveys or interviews), and others test new treatments like medications or therapies.
Whether you're living with dementia, a caregiver/care partner, or just want to help, taking part in research helps move dementia care, diagnosis, and treatment forward.
