Connecting Heart Rhythms with Physical, Cognitive and Mental Health

Advances in Dementia Research is a Toronto Dementia Research Alliance (TDRA) webinar series, which is presented in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of TorontoLearn more about the series.

Presented by Dr. Linda Mah, this webinar will provide an overview of the relationship between heart rhythms and various aspects of physical, mental and cognitive health, including memory, mood symptoms and other aspects of emotional health.

Dr. Mah will discuss a series of observational studies investigating the brain-heart connection; specifically, whether heart rate variability can be used as an indicator of cognitive health (or the ability to clearly think, learn and remember), in older adults. Dr. Mah will also introduce a study that is designed to assess whether older adults can
reduce stress levels by practicing breathing techniques.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions.

This webinar is free to attend and is presented in plain language. See more details in flyer.
